Magna-Fi was an American alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, active from 2001 to 2010. The group was formed by guitarist and lead vocalist Mike Szuter alongside his brother, guitarist C.J. Szuter, bassist Rob Kley, and drummer Charlie Smaldino, with guitarist Chris Brady joining in 2006. In 2002, they released the single “Where Did We Go Wrong” through Gold Circle Records, but the label withdrew and cancelled their album's release shortly after. The song was later featured on the soundtrack of the video games NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup and NASCAR SimRacing. In 2003, the band signed with Aezra Records, which released their debut studio album, Burn Out the Stars, in 2004. The album was produced by Paul Lani. Magna-Fi subsequently toured as direct support for Fuel and Sevendust, and performed at the Ozzfest festival in 2004. Following the departure of C.J. Szuter and the addition of Brady, they self-released their second studio album, VerseChorusKillMe, in 2006. They also recorded the song “All Hail Shadow” for the video game Shadow the Hedgehog, which was released in 2005. The band officially disbanded after performing a final show in 2010.
