New album "Song Cycle, Or Music For the End Of Our Times" out.
Since the sudden and completely unnoticed appearance of their manifesto in 2016, the multi-instrumentalist duo The Mañana People took a vow to write 100 songs exploring the forking paths of the pop genre discourse. After three self-produced EPs, their debut album was released by German label Unique Records in 2019, consisting of a series of homemade freak-folk and psych-country curiosities, ranging from theremin-driven honky tonk smashers, zombie-themed electro-pop ballads and horror spirituals, as well as a collaboration with the best troubadour himself, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Between 2020 and 2022, the duo periodically released tracks of their sophomore album Song Cycle, Or Music For the End Of Our Times, a continuation of their dwellings between the gutters of experimentation and the comfortable lightness of pop music, featuring guest appearances by Alison O'Donnell (United Bible Studies, Mellow Candle) and Javier Díez Ena & His Theremins.
