Exordium to Extasy is Barry Paquin Roberge’s sophomore album following their GAMIQ award nom-inated album, Voyage Massage (2017). Also known as BPR, the band is back with a disco-infused, body rockin’, vogue-a-licious opus. This collection of songs will have you willingly join a conga line onwards into a fiery night of dance, passion, and good times.
‘‘Less is more’’ is not what this is about. The bass and drums are played by the grooviest met-ron’hommes in town. The layers of period synthesizers are as poignant as they come. The guitars are jangly, rhythmic, and electrifying. The flutes, percussion and group sing-alongs are precisely what we did not know we were in dire need of. This album will make you travel through time and space only to find yourself doing the hustle in a disco dream world. It’s the good stuff!
