Area-7 are an Australian ska punk and pop-punk ensemble from Melbourne established in 1994. The group was founded by the musicians Charles Thompson and Dan Morrison and included Ivan Downey, Dugald McNaughtan, Alistair Shepherd, Toby Dargaville, and Rohan Pacey. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as ska punk. Their recording career began with the debut extended play Demo Tape 1994 (1994). They achieved professional recognition for the debut studio recording No Logic (1995). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the track “Second Class Citizen” (1999) which reached number 29 in Australia and the studio recording Bitter & Twisted (2000) which reached number 6. The recording received a nomination for the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album (2000). Their discography included the track “Nobody Likes a Bogan” (2002) which reached number 46 and the studio recording Say It to My Face (2001) which reached number 36. They achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Torn Apart (2005) and the track “Big Issue” (2004). Morrison died on 1 December 2020.
