New single 'Run Away' from forthcoming Allusions EP
Growling guitars, swelling synths and acoustic textures laced with uplifting melancholy.
Combining scuzzy hooks with pulsating percussion and her raw, impassioned vocals, Wyse’s songs are unapologetic slices of fierce, guitar-driven alt-rock that immediately pack a punch.
There’s a spark and a kick to the work of Portsmouth based artist/producer Wyse that feels even more formidable on her forthcoming EP, Allusions. Run Away is the the first introduction to that project.
Formed of five fiery new recordings, Allusions sees Wyse truly pushing her abilities as a producer, writer and musician beyond anything she’s done so far, performing vocals, synths, keyboards, bass guitar, electric guitar, piano, acoustic guitar, and percussion all while channelling a love for Anna Calvi, Awolnation, and Radiohead into something both gleamingly progressive and dynamic.
Learning from those who have come before while treading an impressive path of her own, Wyse is busy making her dreams a reality, flying the flag for women writers and producers in a world that so often dismisses such talent.
Wyse’s debut EP Anomalies received multiple plays and support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1’s Gemma Bradley and BBC Radio Wales’ Janice Long to name just a few, alongside written praise from the likes of Atwood Magazine, Gold Flake Paint and Dork.
