Common Rider was an American ska punk band from Berkeley, California, formed in 1999 by Jesse Michaels, Mass Giorgini, and Dan Lumley. The group's name was taken from a Japanese TV show, Kamen Rider. Michaels was previously the lead vocalist for Operation Ivy from 1987 to 1989. Common Rider released their debut album, Last Wave Rockers (1999). Their second album was This Is Unity Music (2002), which featured contributions from Phillip Hill and Joe Mizzi. In 2002, the band embarked on a US tour, including the Plea For Peace tour. The band’s final release was a split album with Against All Authority in 2005, containing outtakes from This Is Unity Music. Common Rider disbanded in 2003.
