Gottlieb Wallisch, who was born on August 7, 1978, in Vienna, Austria, is an Austrian pianist. He studied piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Heinz Medjimorec, later with Pascal Devoyon at the Berlin University of the Arts, and with Jacques Rouvier at the Paris Conservatoire. He debuted at the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein at age twelve. A breakthrough performance with Yehudi Menuhin and the Sinfonia Varsovia in 1996 launched his international career, leading to appearances at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Salzburg Festival. His recordings include Début (1995), Erich Zeisl: Klavierkonzert C-Dur (2007), and Domenico Scarlatti: Piano Sonatas, Vol. 11. He won first prize at the Stravinsky Award in the United States and was a finalist at the Concours Reine Elisabeth in 1999 and the International Clara-Haskil Piano Competition in 2005.
