Bellatrix were an Icelandic rock ensemble from Keflavík established in 1992. The group was founded as Kolrassa krókríðandi by the musicians Ester Bíbí Ásgeirsdóttir, Sigrún Eiríksdóttir, Elíza M Geirsdóttir, and Birgitta Vilbersdóttir. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by rock. Their recording career began with the extended play Drápa (1992). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Kynjasögur (1994) and the studio recording Köld Eru Kvennaráð (1996). Their discography included the studio recording Stranger Tales (1995) which was their first recording released under the name Bellatrix. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording G (1998) released on the label Global Warming Records and signing with the label Fierce Panda (1999). They achieved professional recognition for performing as a co-headliner with the ensemble Coldplay (1999). Their recording career included the studio recording It's All True (2000) and the song “Jedi Wannabe” (2000) which reached number 65 in the United Kingdom. The ensemble became inactive in 2001.
