Kevin Hufnagel is an American technical metal, progressive rock, and ambient musician, producer, and guitar teacher based in New York City. Hufnagel launched his recording career in 1994 with the project Grey Division Blue. He co-founded the instrumental band Dysrhythmia, releasing the studio albums Contradiction (2000), Pretest (2003), and Psychic Maps (2009). Hufnagel became a member of the death metal group Gorguts in 2009, contributing to Colored Sands (2013) and Pleiades’ Dust (2016). His solo discography featured the albums Songs for the Disappeared (2009), Ashland (2013), and Kleines Biest (2015). Hufnagel performed in the ensembles Byla, Vaura, Sabbath Assembly, and Veldune. He provided guitar solos for Jarboe and Costanza, and co-composed the soundtrack for the film Imitation Girl (2019). Hufnagel performed on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and baritone ukulele.
