Bonde da Stronda was a Brazilian hip hop group from Rio de Janeiro that was active between 2006 and 2023. The ensemble was founded by the singers Mr. Thug and Léo Stronda, who began their career with home recordings of tracks such as “Vida de Playsson” (2006). They released the independent demo Stronda Style in 2008 before signing with Galerão Records. The group achieved a significant breakthrough with the virtual album Nova Era da Stronda (2009), which featured the popular collaboration “Mansão Thug Stronda” (2010) with Mr. Catra. Their discography includes the studio albums A Profecia (2011) and O Lado Certo da Vida Certa (2013), as well as the mixtape Corporação (2012). The group is famous for a musical style that blends hip hop, rap, and rock, often addressing themes of youth culture and personal experiences. Léo Stronda announced his departure from the group in 2023 following a religious conversion.
