Given was formed in Japan on 2019‑07‑11 as a pop and anison group, with the members collectively adopting the name Given. The group emerged from the anime adaptation of the manga Given, and its first public appearance coincided with the release of the debut EP まるつけ/冬のはなし on 2019‑09‑18. The EP introduced the singles "Marutsuke" and "まるつけ" on 2019‑07‑19, establishing the band’s signature blend of melodic pop and emotional storytelling. In 2020, Given expanded its catalog with the singles "へたくそ" (2020‑08‑05), "ステージから君に捧ぐ" (2020‑08‑12), and "Yorugaakeru" (2020‑08‑22), all of which were released under the same label that supported the original anime series.
