Shinji Orito (born July 30, 1973) is a Japanese J-pop, techno, and game music composer and musician from Hyōgo. Orito began a musical career at the developer TGL before joining Leaf in 1995, contributing to the games DR 2 Night Janki, Filsnown: Hikari to Koku, and Shizuku. After performing as a freelance composer for Tactics on the titles Moon and One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e, Orito co-founded the visual novel brand Key in 1999. Orito composed scores for the games Kanon, Air, and Clannad. The song “Tori no Uta” established Orito's professional reputation in the industry. In 2001, Orito composed the opening and ending themes for the anime series Please Teacher!. Solo recordings include the album Circle of Fifth (2012). In 2019, Orito received the Heisei Anisong Grand Prize for the tracks “Shooting Star” and “Tori no Uta”.
