This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb was a folk-punk band from Pensacola, Florida. Active between 1997 and 2011, the group initially started as a new wave band with folk singer David Dondero on drums before transitioning to country music. However, their punk roots were evident, and they became one of the leading bands of the folk-punk genre. Their first recording, an EP titled This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb, was released that same year on Ghostmeat Records. The band's punk roots were evident in their music, positioning them at the forefront of the folk-punk genre. They released several albums, including Front Seat Solidarity (2002), Three Way Tie For a Fifth (2005), and Convertible (2009). The band toured extensively, including multiple US tours and performances in Europe. On February 3, 2011, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb announced their disbandment.
