Elana James is an American jazz and Western swing violinist and singer born in the United States in 1970. Elana Jaime Fremerman is a founding member of the band Hot Club of Cowtown, which was established in 1994. They performed on tour as a member of the Bob Dylan band between 2004 and 2006. Their solo discography includes the debut album Elana James (2007) and the recording Black Beauty (2015). With Hot Club of Cowtown, they released the albums Wishful Thinking (2009), Rendezvous in Rhythm (2013), and Wild Kingdom (2019). James received the Western Swing Female award at the Ameripolitan Music Awards in 2015. Subsequent recordings with the ensemble include Limelight (2025). James was inducted into the International Western Music Association’s Hall of Fame in 2025.
