Victor Nobleza Wood, born on February 1, 1946, in Buhi, Camarines Sur, Philippines, was a Filipino singer and actor. Before his music career, Wood starred in productions by Sampaguita Pictures. His breakthrough came with the release of In Despair in 1972, an album featuring cover versions of popular English songs from the 1950s and 1960s. Throughout the 1970s, Wood released numerous albums, including Ihilak (1974), Victor Wood (1979), and Victor Wood: Ngayon (2002). Notable songs include "Jenny Jenny" and "Runaway". In addition to his music career, Wood also acted in various films until 1979. He ran for the Senate of the Philippines during the 2007 general election but did not win. Wood died on April 23, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications.
