SBB is a Polish progressive rock band formed in 1971 in Siemianowice Śląskie, Poland, by Józef Skrzek, Apostolis Anthimos, and Jerzy Piotrowski. Initially known as Silesian Blues Band, the trio worked with Czesław Niemen as part of Grupa Niemen from 1971 to 1973, performing internationally and contributing to several of his recordings. After separating from Niemen, the group adopted the abbreviated name SBB and released its self-titled debut album, SBB, in 1974. It was followed by Nowy horyzont (1975), Pamięć (1976), and Ze słowem biegnę do ciebie (1977), establishing the group as one of the leading acts of Polish progressive and jazz rock. SBB toured extensively across Europe and received the OIRT Gouden Zeezwaluw award in Belgium in 1978. The band ceased activity in 1980 before returning for several reunions during the 1990s and resuming more regular activity in 2000. Later releases include Nastroje (2002), New Century (2005), The Rock (2007), Iron Curtain (2009), and SBB (2012). In 2021, SBB released Z miłości jestem – Live, recorded with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR). The group's archival catalogue has continued to expand through releases including Live Cuts: Elz 1977 (2024), Zerwana struna (2026), and several further installments of the Live Cuts series in 2026.
