Adelina Oprean, born on February 3, 1955, in Deva, Romania, is a violinist who studied at the Bucharest Conservatory of Music under Ştefan Gheorghiu. She furthered her education with Alberto Lysy and Yehudi Menuhin in Gstaad, and at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg under Sándor Végh. From 1982 to 1986, Oprean served as a lecturer at the Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad and assisted Sándor Végh in Lenk. In 1985, she acquired a professorship at the Basel Academy of Music. Throughout her career, Oprean has performed extensively across Europe, the USA, South America, and Asia, collaborating with notable orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Mozart Players. Oprean has also been the recipient of several awards, including 1st Prize at the Chamber Music Competition in Colmar and Silver Medal at the Geneva Chamber Music Competition.
