Habil Mustafa oğlu Əliyev, born on May 28, 1927 in Agdash, is an Azerbaijani kamancha player. He studied music at age seven under mugam master Ahmed Agdamsky. In 1952, he entered the the kamancha department of the Asef Zeynalli Secondary Specialized Music School in Baku, and by 1962 he appeared on Azerbaijani television, marking his breakthrough. His recording, Grandes Maîtres De La Vièle Kémentché (1992), was followed by Musique Traditionnelle Azerbaïdjan, Volume I (1994). He toured extensively in the United Kingdom, Tunisia, Switzerland, the United States, and Japan, collaborating with singers such as Rachid Behboudov and Tamara Sinyavskaya. His interpretations revitalised traditional mughams and were featured in UNESCO‑commissioned anthologies. He passed away on September 8, 2015 in Baku.
