The Frenchies was a French glam rock ensemble formed in 1973 in the Parisian suburbs. The group was established by Michaël Memmi, Morgan Davis, and Linn Lingreën. The lineup later included Olivier Legrand, known as Kiss Olivier, and Jean-Marie Poiré, known as Martin Dune. The ensemble signed with Harvest Records and recorded its only studio album, Lola Cola, in 1974. The recording was produced by John Leckie at the Boulogne-Billancourt studios and was completed in 24 hours. The album was released by Pathé-Marconi and featured the tracks “Lana Turner Cheap Dreams” and “Incestuous Child”. The band received coverage in the magazine Rock & Folk. In 1975, Poiré left the group to pursue a career in filmmaking. Singer Chrissie Hynde joined the ensemble briefly and performed with the band at the Fête Rouge in October 1975. The group became inactive later that year following the departures of Hynde and Memmi. The label Jurassic Punk/FGL Productions reissued Lola Cola in 1999.
