Werner Müller, born on August 2, 1920, in Berlin, Germany, was a conductor and composer. Initially learning piano and violin under his father before entering the military music school in Bückeburg to study trombone, Müller began his career by arranging for Kurt Widmann's orchestra in Berlin from 1946 to 1948. In 1949, he took over the newly formed dance orchestra of RIAS Berlin, where he developed a signature sound blending swing with string arrangements. Notable releases during this period include "Malagueña" and "Sport und Musik", which became widely recognized. Müller's work as a producer also launched the careers of several vocalists, including Rita Paul and Mona Baptiste. In 1967, he moved to Cologne to lead the WDR Dance Orchestra, appearing in numerous television shows and producing many instrumental hits like "Baia" and "Siboney". His composition "Blende auf" was used extensively in radio programs. He passed away on December 28, 1998, in Cologne.
