Jackson Heights, an English progressive rock band, was formed in 1970 by bassist Lee Jackson after his former bandmates from The Nice left to form other groups. Aiming for a more acoustic sound, he was later joined by Charlie Harcourt, Mario Enrique Covarrubias Tapia, and Tommy Sloane. Their debut album, King Progress, released in 1970, was followed by The Fifth Avenue Bus and Ragamuffins Fool in 1972. Despite touring extensively and releasing notable songs like "Maureen", the band struggled with commercial success. After recruiting new musicians, Jackson Heights disbanded in 1973 after releasing their final album, Bump 'N' Grind.
