Samuli Laiho, born in 1969 in Tampere, Finland, is a Finnish guitarist, composer, lyricist, and producer who began playing guitar at six and received his first electric guitar at 12. After classical studies, he joined the band Hearthill, releasing several albums and touring Europe and the United States before the group disbanded in 1993. In 1994, he issued the single "Sido mut suhun"/"Keikari", followed by his self‑titled album the same year. He returned to pop music in 2001, writing five songs for singer Samuli Edelmann, one of which topped Finnish airplay charts. In 2014, he released the album Aamut.
