Hollie Smith, née le 17 novembre 1982 à Auckland, en Nouvelle-Zélande, est une auteure-compositrice-interprète. À l'âge de 16 ans, elle réalise l'album Light From a Distant Shore. En 2007, elle sort son premier album solo, Long Player, qui se classe en première position du classement des albums de la RIANZ et devient disque d'or. Après une pause, elle revient avec Humour and the Misfortune of Others en 2010, qui se classe à nouveau en tête des hit-parades. Elle a poursuivi son succès avec Water or Gold en 2016 et Coming in from the Dark en 2021, tous deux classés numéro 1. Elle a notamment collaboré avec Don McGlashan et Mt Raskil Preservation Society sur "Bathe in the River" (2006).
