Kaoteon is an extreme metal project originating from Lebanon, initially founded in 1998 in Beirut by Anthony Kaoteon as a one-man band under the name Chaotaeon (a fusion of “chaotic” and “aeon”). Over time, the project relocated due to migration, later becoming based in the Netherlands. Kaoteon released its debut album Provenance of Hatred in 2004, followed by Veni Vidi Vomui in 2011 on Osmose Productions. The project gained wider international recognition with Damnatio Memoriae (2018), which featured Fredrik Widigs (Marduk) on drums and Linus Klausenitzer (Obscura) on bass, and earned the “Global Metal” award at the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Despite lineup shifts and interruptions in production, Kaoteon released other materials, including “The Hunt for Life” (2022) and the album Neither God Nor Master (2022).
