They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as indie rock and baggy. The ensemble was originally known as Morality Play. Their recording career began with the song “Lies / Just Good Friends” (1988) released as a flexi-disc and the extended play Just Good Friends (1989), which reached number 18 on the UK Indie Chart. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the song “Give In / Whole Damn Nation” (1990) and the song “Spirit” (1990) featuring the ensemble LFO. Their discography included the debut studio recording Invisible to You (1991) and the song “Don't Fear the Reaper / Face in the Crowd” (1991). Roberts achieved professional recognition for recovering activity in 1992 as the Bridewells.
