Soulwave, a Hungarian alternative rock band from Körmend, was founded in 2007 by singer Máté Fodor and guitarist Ádám Huszár. Their initial lineup recorded the EP Butterflies EP and released their debut single "Lonely". In 2010, Soulwave released their first album, One Night Stand, which did not achieve significant success, leading to an unofficial hiatus from 2010 to 2012. After returning, Fodor revived the group with András Németh and they released the EP 1975. In 2015, Soulwave signed with Universal Music Group and released their first Hungarian-language single "Szélcsend", which reached number 27 on the national music charts. Their subsequent singles "Mindent Elhittem" and "Kalandor" topped local charts. "Kalandor" was also their entry into A Dal 2017, Hungary's selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, where they progressed to the finals.
