JL & Afterman is a house duo featuring Italian DJs Gianluigi Tarnassi (JL) and Fabrizio Saviano (Afterman). Longtime friends since 2000, the two producers formed JL & Afterman in Milan in 2011. They launched their own label, White Cat Recordings, the same year. Initially known for their club-friendly, deep house remixes of rock & roll classics like Ram Jam's "Black Betty," The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go," and The Knack's "My Sharona," Gianluigi Tarnassi and Fabrizio Saviano began releasing original material with JL & Afterman's debut EP, ROCK, in 2014. A handful of singles followed, along with full-length albums like 2018's Complete House Works and 2019's White Grooves. Each release showcased the duo's blend of dance-floor friendly rhythms and hypnotic chord patterns, which allowed JL & Afterman to maintain a frequent presence on the Beatport charts. While continuing to release non-album singles and rock & roll remixes, JL & Afterman's DJs also teamed up for another project, Cop & Thief, whose material found the two producers embracing influences like Latin and tropical house.
