35007, a Dutch space rock band from Eindhoven, formed in 1991 when members of The Alabama Kids and other musicians came together to provide music for a fashion show. Initially named after designer Loes, they later adopted the calculator spelling 35007. Their debut album Especially for You was released in 1994. Following the self-titled album 35007 (1997), Eeuwout Baart and Jacco van Rooy left the band and was replaced by Sander Evers on drums. This left the band without a vocalist, leading them to continue as an instrumental unit with releases like Sea of Tranquillity (2001) and Liquid (2002), the latter of which received critical acclaim from AllMusic for its influence in the ambient rock field. In 2005, they released Phase V, featuring Tos Nieuwenhuizen on guitar. Their live performances were also known for incorporating visual effects and psychedelic videos. Mark Sponselee passed away in December 2012 due to pneumonia and bassist Michel Boekhoudt died on February 18, 2022.
