The Leather Nun, also known as Lädernunnan, is a Swedish rock band formed in Gothenburg. Founded by Jonas Almquist, the band released its debut EP, Slow Death, in November 1979. The early career of the band was marked by controversy due to the use of adult movies and strippers during live shows. In 1985, the group released the live album Alive. The 1986 single "“Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)”", a cover of the ABBA song, earned the band recognition across Sweden and Europe. Its second studio album, Steel Construction (1987), reached number 5 on the UK Indie Chart. Other releases include the albums International Heroes (1990), Nun Permanent (1991), and Whatever (2015).
