Skipping Girl Vinegar are an Australian indie rock band formed in Melbourne in 2004. The group consists of Chris Helm, Mark Lang, Sare Lang, Amanthi Lynch, and Kelly Lane. Blending elements of indie pop, folk, and acoustic rock, the band spent two years rehearsing before making their live debut in 2006. In 2008, they released their first single, “One Chance”. The band signed with the independent label Popboomerang and released their debut album, Sift the Noise, in 2008. In February 2009, the title track, “Sift the Noise”, reached high rotation nationwide on Triple J and ABC local radio. The band followed this success in March 2010 with the single “One Long Week”, heralding a harder musical direction. That year, they opened the Splendour in the Grass festival and officially added violinist and keyboardist Kelly Lane to the lineup. Subsequent studio releases include Keep Calm Carry the Monkey (2011), featuring the singles “Wasted” and “Chase the Sun”, and their 2015 album, The Great Wave.
