Cedric Kelvin Coleman, known professionally as Frayser Boy, was born on February 21, 1976, in Memphis, Tennessee. He began his career under Hypnotize Minds, the label founded by Three 6 Mafia members DJ Paul and Juicy J. His debut album, Gone On That Bay, was released in 2003 and reached number 23 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, followed by Me Being Me in 2005 and Da Key in 2008. Frayser Boy gained significant recognition when he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 78th Academy Awards for "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from the film Hustle & Flow, collaborating with Three 6 Mafia members Juicy J, Crunchy Black, and DJ Paul. In 2014, he released B.A.R. (Bay Area Representatives), a collaborative project with Lil Wyte, and Not No Moe, both through Phixieous Entertainment.
