Ruff Sqwad, an English grime crew formed in 2001 in Bow, East London, gained early recognition for their distinctive production style. The group released notable instrumentals like "Pied Piper" (2003) and "Misty Cold" (2003) on white-label vinyl. Their =mixtape, Guns & Roses Vol 1, was released in 2005 and received significant acclaim within the grime scene. Following the solo success of Tinchy Stryder and other members, Ruff Sqwad became less active as a group. In 2015, it was confirmed that Ruff Sqwad had split due to internal conflicts. However, in October 2023, they reunited for a performance at the Adidas Flagship Store on Oxford Street, marking their first live show in six years. In 2024, Rapid, Slix, and Dirty Danger released the collaborative EP Flee FM under the Ruff Sqwad name, inspired by pirate radio sets.
