Black Ox Orkestar, a Canadian Jewish folk music band, formed in Montreal, Quebec in 2000. The quartet initially explored their common Jewish heritage through acoustic music sung in Yiddish. Their debut album Ver Tanzt? was released on Constellation Records in 2004, followed by Nisht Azoy in 2006. Both albums blended traditional Jewish diasporic music with influences from various East European traditions and indie rock. The band played live through 2005 before going on hiatus. After reuniting in 2021, they released their third full-length album Everything Returns in 2022 via Constellation Records, featuring nine tracks sung in Yiddish and English.
