Amon Düül is a German rock band formed in Leopoldstrasse, Munich, in 1967. Initially part of the student movement of the 1960s, the band gained underground popularity for their free-form musical improvisations. After a split within the commune in September 1968, two distinct groups emerged, such as Amon Düül and Amon Düül II. The latter, formed by members like Chris Karrer and Falk Rogner, signed with the United Artists label. They released the album Psychedelic Underground in 1969, followed by Collapsing Singvögel Rückwärts & Co. later that year. After releasing their final album, Paradieswärts Düül, in 1971, the group disbanded, although some original members reunited in the 1980s under the name Amon Düül UK.
