Pitch Yarn of Matter was a Brazilian synthpop project formed by Marcelo Gallo. Their musical influences included notable acts such as Gary Numan and Depeche Mode. The group gained international recognition when they were invited to record their first studio album at Subtronic Studio in Germany during a tour by the German band Second Decay in 1994, which marked Pitch Yarn of Matter as the first Brazilian synth-pop duo to achieve international prominence. Their first official album under the label, Signs in Our Minds, was released in 1995, followed by another studio album, Strange Body (1996). In 1996, Marcelo Gallo decided to put Pitch Yarn of Matter on hiatus to focus on his new project, Nude. In 2016, the band released It's New, Sounds Old and I Love It, followed by Legacy in 2020, both through Wave Records.
