Laura Camacho started her music career as a teenager in her hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She specialized in classical double bass, while remaining active in her obsession: tango music. As a member of Las Del Abasto, she opened for premiere tango acts such as Sexteto Mayor and Mariano Mores. After being offered a scholarship at the University of Georgia, she moved to Athens, Ga, where she found there to be a lack of tango music. Camacho assembled a group of top-notch local musicians from the community who were willing to learn to perform tango music.
