Gallery, a soft rock band, was formed in 1971 in Detroit, Michigan, by Jim Gold, who served as lead vocalist and songwriter. Gold’s initial songwriting efforts culminated in the single "Nice to Be With You" in 1972, a track written by Jim Gold and arranged by Dennis Coffey and Mike Theodore, which was released on Sussex Records and reached number 4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, remaining on the chart for 22 weeks, and earning a gold record for one million sales; the song also topped the Cashbox chart and reached Number 1 on WCFL and WLS. In early 1973, the single "Big City Miss Ruth Ann" (1972) entered the Hot 100 at number 23 and also performed well on Cashbox and WCFL. In the same year, Gallery issued the album Gallery featuring Jim Gold. Subsequent releases such as "Rest in Peace" (1973) and "Love Every Little Thing About You" (1974) did not chart, and the group disbanded in 1974, after which Jim Gold pursued a solo career. The band reformed in 2022 as Jim Gold & Galley.
