Keiji Haino, born May 3, 1952, in Chiba, Japan, is a Japanese musician and singer known for his diverse musical explorations. He became active in the 1970s, gaining recognition through various genres including rock, improvisational music, noise, psychedelia, minimalism, and drone. Haino's primary instruments are the guitar and vocals. His early works include albums such as Watashi Dake (1981) and Nijiumu (1990). Throughout his career, he has released numerous albums under various labels, including P.S.F. Records. Notable collaborations include work with Kan Mikami and Toshiaki Ishizuka in the group Vajra. Haino's discography spans over four decades, with significant releases like the live album Ama No Gawa (1993) and Uchu Ni Karami Tsuite Iru Waga Itami (2005).
