Ramp is a Portuguese groove and thrash metal band from Seixal, Setúbal, formed in 1989 by guitarist Ricardo Mendonça and singer Rui Duarte. The band's name is an acronym of the first names of its founding members: Ricardo, António, Miguel, and Paulo. In its early years, the group performed as the opening act for Mortífera and The Coven in 1989. Its debut EP, Thoughts, was released in 1992 via PolyGram, and featured music videos for the songs “Try Again”, “Last Child”, and “Thoughts”. This was followed by a full-length CD version of Thoughts (1992) which featured three additional tracks. The band subsequently released the studio albums Intersection (1995), Evolution, Devolution, Revolution (1998), and the double live album Ramp...Live (1999). After performing on the main stage of the Portuguese leg of the festival Ozzfest in 2002, the group published the studio albums Nude (2003), Visions (2009), and Insidiously (2022).
