Dogardisc (Ismael Simancas) is a Colombian champeta singer associated with Cartagena, whose recording history is documented at least as far back as the early 2000s, including the 2001 release Champetas Populares la Escama de la Champeta. Across the 2010s and into the 2020s, Dogardisc remained a recognizable voice in the genre through recurring appearances on compilation-style releases and a catalog built around street-level storytelling and dancefloor hooks, with signature cuts such as “El viejo zorro” often cited among his best-known titles. In 2021, he pushed a new wave of activity with releases like “Vuelve Dogar Disc” and the widely circulated “Desplazado de Amor,” followed by “Ramaya” in 2023. His last stretch was especially active: Champetas Inmortales: Dogardisc arrived in 2025 alongside singles such as “Grosera,” “La Cosita De Las Mujeres,” and “En Las Malas Se Van,” keeping his name in rotation within the contemporary champeta circuit. Dogardisc died on January 15, 2026, after health complications that Colombian media linked to diabetes.
