HṚṢṬA, a Montreal-based post-rock band, was formed in 2001. The group's leader, Mike Moya, who also contributed to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, is known for his guitar and vocal work. The band's sound was often compared to that of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, and Set Fire to Flames, with Moya’s vocal contributions setting them apart from his previous projects. HṚṢṬA's initial releases included L’Éclat du ciel était insoutenable (2001) and Stem Stem in Electro (2005). The band signed with Constellation Records and released their third album, Ghosts Will Come and Kiss Our Eyes, in 2007. Throughout their career, HṚṢṬA featured members Brooke Crouser, Harris Newman, Eric Craven, Lisa Gamble, and Nick Kuepfer.
