Screaming Dead, a punk rock band from Cheltenham, United Kingdom, formed in 1980. Named after the English title of Drácula contra Frankenstein, their original lineup included guitarist Tony McCormack, vocalist Sam Missile (Simon Bignall), bassist Mal Page, and drummer Mark Ogilvie. The band gained local attention with early releases like Children of the Boneyard Stones cassette in 1982. Their first vinyl release was "Valley of the Dead" in 1982, followed by their breakthrough hit "Night Creatures", which reached number 22 on the UK Indie Chart in September 1983. In 1984, they released a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black", which also charted at number 38. The band disbanded in 1985 but reformed briefly in 1997 to release Death Rides Out. They reunited again in 2014 with a new lineup, including Sam Bignall and Hugh Fairlie.
