In the Woods... is a Norwegian metal band formed in Kristiansand in 1992. The group emerged from members of Green Carnation, who had put their project on hold after Tchort joined Emperor. In 1993, the band released rehearsal and demo recordings, which include The Isle of Men. This release sold over 3,000 copies worldwide and secured them a contract with Misanthropy Records. Their debut studio album, Heart of the Ages, was released in 1995, followed by the single “White Rabbit” in 1996. They released their second album, Omnio, in 1997, and subsequent albums include Strange in Stereo (1999), Pure (2016), Cease the Day (2018), and Diversum (2022). The band toured with Katatonia. In 2000, they announced their dissolution and performed a farewell concert on December 29, 2000, at the Caledonien Hall in Kristiansand. This performance was later released as the live album Liveatthecaledonienhall in 2003. After a hiatus, the group reformed in 2014 and performed at festivals such as Blastfest and Graspop.
