Alamo Race Track is a Dutch alternative rock band formed in Amsterdam in 2001 by members of Redivider after a lineup change prompted a new musical direction. Signed to Excelsior Recordings, the band released its debut album, Birds at Home (2003), and gained acclaim through extensive touring and festival appearances, including Noorderslag, Lowlands, and South by Southwest. Their second album, Black Cat John Brown (2006), brought wider recognition after a live performance of the title track became a viral YouTube hit, attracting international media attention. The band later composed the soundtrack for Jakop Ahlbom's theatre production Innenschau, which led to the album Unicorn Loves Deer (2011). Later releases include Hawks (2015) and Greetings from Tear Valley (2023).
