Julia Marcell, born Julia Górniewicz on April 20, 1982 in Chełmno, Poland, is a singer, pianist, guitarist, and composer. She began composing songs at age 14 and in 2007, she released her first EP, Storm. Her debut studio album, It Might Like You, was published in Germany in 2008 with the help of producer Moses Schneider. Marcell's second album, June (2011), won the Fryderyk Award for Alternative Music Album of the Year in 2012. Her subsequent albums include Sentiments (2014) and Proxy (2016). Marcell has collaborated with various artists, notably Voltaire on "This Sea" from his album To the Bottom of the Sea (2008) and "The Devil and Mr. Jones" on Raised by Bats (2014). She also composed the soundtrack for the film Jak całkowicie zniknąć.
