The Reatards were an American garage punk band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1995. The group was initially a one-man project by Jay Reatard, who began recording homemade demo tapes influenced by the Oblivians' lo-fi garage sound at age 15. In 1997, Goner Records distributed their debut 7" "Get Real Stupid". By 1998, the band had evolved into a trio with Sean "Albundy" Redd and Ryan "Wong" Rousseau, releasing their studio album Teenage Hate that year. The Reatards followed up with Grown Up, Fucked Up in 1999. In 2005, the band reformed for live shows and to release their third and final studio album Not Fucked Enough, before disbanding a year later. Jay Reatard died in 2010 at age 29. Post-breakup, several of the Reatards' albums were reissued, including deluxe versions of Teenage Hate and Grown Up, Fucked Up.
