Rob Moir, born Robert Daniel Moir in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist, and poet. He began writing and performing music in his early teens with his first band The Stiffs, which later renamed to Dead Letter Dept. In 2005, the band released their debut full-length album Rock'n'Roll Hates You and participated in Underground Operations' Unity Tour. Following the band's breakup, Moir embarked on a solo career, releasing his first EP, This is the Lie, with backing band The Great Lates in 2010. He toured North America and Europe extensively to support this release. His debut solo album Places to Die, released on April 30, 2013, received positive reviews and featured tracks from several genres. Moir continued touring globally through 2014 and 2015, releasing the album Adventure Handbook in 2015, inspired by his world travels.
