The Witch Trials was a British-American musical supergroup formed in 1980, consisting of Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Adrian Borland (the Sound), Morgan Fisher (Mott the Hoople), and Christian Lunch. The group's sole release was their self-titled EP The Witch Trials, recorded in England and released by Subterranean Records in 1981. The EP featured Biafra improvising most of the vocals, delivering surreal nightmares with sociopolitical overtones over an electronic backdrop. Despite minimal promotion, the EP garnered attention for its crude, homemade feel and zombie pulse of electronic ugliness.
