BlöödHag was an American death metal band from Seattle that was active between 1996 and 2010. The ensemble was founded by Jeff McNulty and Jake Stratton, later adding Zachary Orgel and a drum machine named Philthy “The Drum Machine” Taylor. The group is famous for a musical style they termed “edu-core,” featuring short songs with lyrics derived from science fiction, fantasy, and horror literature. They achieved recognition for performing tours in libraries and appeared at the Nebula Awards (2004). Their discography includes the EP The Dewey Decibel System (1997), the compilation New World Hors D'oeuvres (Volume One) (1997), and the studio album Hell Bent for Letters (2006). The ensemble performed a final show at The Funhouse in 2010.
