Boyracer are an English rock band from Leeds formed in 1990. The ensemble was founded by vocalist and guitarist Stewart Anderson and achieved professional recognition within the indie rock scene. They released their debut single in 1991, followed by the extended play Naked (1992). Their recording career includes the debut studio album More Songs About Frustration and Self-Hate (1994), released through Slumberland Records. The group signed with Zero Hour Records and conducted their first tour of the United States in 1995. The ensemble became inactive in 1997 but resumed activity in 2000 with a new lineup. Their discography includes the studio recordings To Get a Better Hold You've Got to Loosen Your Grip (2002), Happenstance (2004), and Assuaged (2021). Anderson established the label Emotional Response Records, which collaborated to launch the Oakland Weekender festival in 2022.
